Africa Day 2022 – a Colorful Celebration of African Culture in Sofia

One of the most colorful events of the year was held on May 21 in Sofia – Africa Day 2022. Traditionally, the corner of the Republic of Seychelles, organized by the team of M3 Communications Group, Inc., was one of the sunniest and most visited places at the festival. The extremely attractive local coconut Coco de Mer, the beautiful Seychelles jewelry and photos of paradise beaches attracted attention from afar.

The event took place in the City Garden in front of the National Theater “Ivan Vazov” with the participation of senior government officials, diplomats and media, and was organized by the Embassies of African countries Algeria, Angola, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa and the Honorary Consulates of Seychelles and Sudan in Bulgaria.

Visitors of Africa Day 2022 had the opportunity to enjoy a diverse program, including authentic dances, music, songs, performances that reflect African identity and culture. They also had the chance to buy a variety of African cultural artifacts, traditional clothing, jewelry, and accessories, as well as try typical African cuisine. All funds from this year's edition will be donated to the “For Our Children Foundation”.

Africa Day is celebrated annually around the world to mark the founding of the African Union, an organization that has been searching for local African solutions to continental problems for 59 years and is developing a new concept every year. This year marks the African Year of Nutrition: “Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthening Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for the Acceleration of Human, Social and Economic Capital Development”.
