Africa Day 2023 - Music, Dances, Colours and Delicious Food

Traditionally this year Sofia hosted again the annual event - Africa Day 2023, which attracted hundreds of curious visitors who had the opportunity to experience the African culture.

As lovers of everything colorful and sunny, our team took part in the coverage of the event and supported the wonderful charitable cause that united all the organizers of the event - the embassies of the African countries of Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, South Africa, and the honorary consulates of Ethiopia, Mauritius and Seychelles in Bulgaria.

Bulgaria's Vice President Iliana Iotova and former EU Commissioner Maria Gabriel also attended the event and visited all the stands of the festival.

The Honorary Consulate General of Seychelles took part again this year, welcoming visitors with exotic Seychelles tea and cinnamon, handmade jewellery, surprises from the seabed, the attractive local sea coconut - Coco de Mer, and photos of paradise beaches from the personal collection of the Honorary Consul General Maxim Behar.

The Seychelles booth was of particular interest, where the only book in Bulgaria with recipes from Seychelles (Creole) cuisine written by Maxim Behar - “The Magic of Seychelles Cuisine and Stories from the “Paradise on Earth” - was on display. Visitors expressed great interest in the book and the opportunity to get an autograph from the author in person.

Visitors were able to enjoy a variety of African cuisine, music and artefacts that showcased the richness and cultural heritage of Africa.
