I think we are the only country in the world that does not have helicopters for medical needs. A tender has been opened and failed for a dozen of years instead of some ministry deciding in ten minutes who and how to buy one making a good case for it.
Of course, the health "reform" will happen, and the quotes are not at all accidental. It is happening in the hardest possible way. Bulgaria ranks first in Europe in terms of the number of hospitals per capita of our ever-decreasing population and probably last in terms of ensuring good quality. And with some of the best doctors in the world, as proven repeatedly by several international forums.
