“Viva Bulgaria” – Maxim Behar’s New Musical Tribute to His Homeland, Featuring Big Sha and Lil Sha

“Viva Bulgaria” – Maxim Behar’s New Musical Tribute to His Homeland, Featuring Big Sha and Lil Sha

“I’ve dreamed of writing a song about Bulgaria for years—one that people could easily find on Spotify or YouTube when they search for the word ‘Bulgaria’. And now, here it is: Viva Bulgaria,” said Behar in a televised interview where the song debuted.

The music was composed by Lil Sha, while the lyrics were written by Behar himself. The accompanying music video offers a futuristic vision of Bulgaria—how the country could look in 2085. It blends modern cityscapes with symbolic elements like the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Bulgarian flag, emphasizing enduring national values: culture, faith, and unity.

“My goal was not just to show what Bulgaria looks like today, but to imagine what it could be—abundant, modern, full of love and humanity, but still deeply rooted in its traditions,” Behar explained. The video ends with a powerful message: Imagine—a nod to the dream of a brighter Bulgarian future.

The song was recorded in just one day while Big Sha and Lil Sha were visiting Bulgaria for a short summer break. However, the production took several months of close collaboration, mostly via Instagram—Lil Sha’s preferred communication channel. “That’s how he works—no phones, no WhatsApp, just Instagram. And it worked perfectly,” Behar added with a smile.

The project is already gaining recognition. Among its early admirers is popular Bulgarian singer Poli Genova, who personally reached out to congratulate Behar.

But Viva Bulgaria is only the beginning. Maxim has already recorded another song with a Seychellois artist based in Paris, and plans are underway for another collaboration with Big Sha and Lil Sha this August.

“Music is one of the most powerful ways to deliver a message. With Viva Bulgaria, I wanted to contribute—just a small drop—to the global image and identity of my country,” Maxim concluded.
